Am I crazy? Am I actually nuts? No, probably not. I just love challenges.
Very shortly after declaring this my year of being Spacious, I decided (with a nudge from Tammy Garcia and Hanna Andersson) to do a #365somethings project. Truth be told, I'd been thinking about it anyway. I was noodling over whether to do art journal pages, or stitches, or collages, or what.
Then a post from Daisy Yellow dropped in my inbox and I was hooked. Maybe it was the picture of her box of 365 collages from last year, or maybe it was because she assured me I can work in batches, which is in fact how I work. Either way, art is steadily moving into the center of my life, and a challenge gives me a reason to keep on making.
I decided to go with artist trading cards for my #365 project for a couple of reasons. They're small, for one thing. 2.5 x 3.5 inches to be exact. They're suitable to different media: I can make them with paint and paper, with fiber, or with wax, depending on my medium of the moment. They're portable. And...best of all...they're trade-able!
I will be giving away these teeny original works of art to folks who join my mailing list. (Already there? Drop me a comment and you can have one too.)
If you'd like to do your own #365 project, I heartily encourage it. It's not too late. (Work in batches!) If you'd like to do #365ATCs with me, you can follow and post on Instagram, and then drop me a line and we'll make a trade. So cool, so fun, so tiny. I'm all in.
