Wild and Free Art Journaling: an adventure in self-expression

An art journal is for you.

You don’t have to share it, display it, or get anyone’s opinion about it (unless you want to).

It’s a judgment-free place to try out ideas, throw down paint, draw badly, write things down and cover them up, and layer it all together until it looks done to you, which is the only success that counts.

During this workshop you’ll try your hand at making your own collage papers, simple printmaking, making marks with interesting brushes and materials, and adding text through gentle art prompts.

It’s a day of unrestrained art-making that’s easy, accessible, and entirely low-brow.

At the end of the day you’ll walk out with a collection of interesting pages in your own hand-bound journal, a bundle of art papers and a heart filled with the satisfaction of making work that’s entirely unique to you.

Art journaling is suitable to all art skill levels. All that’s required is curiosity and a free spirit.

Wild and Free Art Journaling will be held on the the summer solstice (magic!) in The Palace Gallery, 210 W 4th Ave suite X in Ellensburg WA.
