Soft Stitch is a meditation circle for people who can’t sit still.
For people who chillax when they have a needle and thread in hand.
For people who need a little quiet, peace and nervous system regulation.
In Soft Stitch, we’ll get together for an hour from 11:30 to 12:30 on Sunday February 1 on Zoom. We’ll settle into our seats with one or two simple techniques to get us situated and we’ll set a little intention for our hour together. Then I’ll put on the groovy music and we’ll…stitch. Silently. With our phones off. With life set aside for just a little while. Letting our systems rest while our fingers move and our stitches stack up.
You can bring whatever you want to stitch on, so long as it’s slow and quiet and relatively mindless. The point is not to produce. The point is to settle.
There’s no charge for Soft Stitch. I consider it community mutual aid in these times of great distress.
You don’t even need to share your email, although of course if you want to keep up with my doings you can get my Substack essays for free right here.
Just click the button below to join me on Sunday. If all goes well, we’ll do it again, maybe once a month.
See you (and your needle and thread) at Soft Stitch.
